As the holiday season unfolds, two local robotics teams have initiated a remarkable project aimed at making toys more accessible for children with disabilities. Arizona State University's Desert WAVE and the high school team Degrees of Freedom recently hosted a special hackathon at the CREATE space in the Arizona Science Center. This inspiring event focused on modifying toys to ensure that every child can engage in the joy of interactive play, creating a more inclusive environment.

The teams are part of the Si Se Puede Foundation, which supports empowerment through education and technology. Their mission was clear: to adapt toys so that children with disabilities can enjoy playtime just like their peers. This initiative not only highlights the technical skills of young engineers but also emphasizes the importance of inclusivity in recreation.
